Alli’s been bugging me forever to take her backpacking. Here’s the deal, though — I wasn’t sure she’d like it.

Don’t get me wrong. I know why she thought she’d like it. Because she like Cadillac camping. But Cadillac camping is a piece of cake. Backpacking is a grind. So, I gotta admit, I wasn’t 100% sure how she’d do.

Which is why I waited till she was 11 to finally take Alli on her first excursion.

How did it go?

I’m glad you asked. I documented the entire deal with nothing more than my phone. Then, the new Disney story app did the rest. Which basically means that I’m able to share with you how the trip went with minimal effort. Disney Story has done all the work for me.

Y’all should download the app. It’s fantastic.

Now. About that trip we took:

Not bad, right? Remember — you can tell your own story, too! Download the Disney Story app for FREE on iTunes!

About john cave osborne

John Cave Osborne is a writer whose work has appeared on such sites as DisneyBaby, Babble, YahooShine, TLC and the Huffington Post. He was also referenced by Jezebel one time, but he’s pretty sure they were making fun of him. He and his wife, Caroline, live with their five children and spastic dog in Knoxville, TN. Nothing annoys him more than joke-heavy bios written in the third person, with the possible exception of Corey Feldman.
